Kirin was born in the city of Bahía Blanca in 1953 under the name of Carlos Dell’ Agostino. Self-taught artist, he gave his first exhibition in 1978. He lives in the city of Buenos Aires from 1981.

His work consists mainly of paintings, sculptures, objects and collages and includes also two sound art works, Escrituras sobre el silencio (1993-1996) and Opus PBk9 (2003-2007), both of them made with invented musical instruments.

Many books include part of his work: Kirin. El diamante de la noche cae entre las plantas (Ediciones de la Alondra, 1986, edited by Juan Carlos Otaño), Kirin. Arcanos mayores (Galería Sur, 1999, introduction and edition by Alejandro Puga), Kirin (Jorge Mara-La Ruche and Galería van Riel, 2004) and Kirin (Daniel Maman Fine Arts, 2007). Razón poética, by the poet Vicente Zito Lema (Ediciones Fin de Siglo, 1991), includes fifty of his works.

Kirin has participated in the ARCO (with Galería Sur, 1997-1999 and 2001; and with Jorge Mara-La Ruche, 2005; Madrid) and arteBA fairs (with Galería van Riel, 1994 and 1996; with Galería Sur, 1997-1999; with Maman Fine Arts, 2006; and with Mara-La Ruche, 2004 y 2011; Buenos Aires).
