Carlos Arnaiz was born in 1948 in the city of Buenos Aires, where he studied fine arts at the Escuela de Bellas Artes Manuel Belgrano. In 1978 he left the country and moved to Madrid and Hamburg. He lived there until 1996, year in which he went back to Argentina. He currently lives and works in that country.
Since 1968, he has given many solo and collective exhibitions in various national and international institutions. His last retrospective was organized by the Palais de Glace in 2003. Together with other artists, Jorge González Perín, Enrique Salvatierra and Mario Pérez, he made “Cultura y federalismo”, a mural for the III Congreso Argentino de Cultura that took place in the province of San Juan.
He participated in different fairs, such as arteBA (with Art House stand, 1997; with Galería Jorge-Mara La Ruche, 2003-2010; and with Galería Wussmann, 2007; Buenos Aires), ARCO (with Mara-La Ruche, Madrid, 2002 and 2004-2006), Pinta Air Fair and SP Arte (both with Mara-La Ruche, New York and São Paulo, 2009), among others.
In 2007 he received the Salón Nacional Argentino Second Prize for Drawing Category.
